GETTING STARTED

Make room for
your next conversation.

A project, a little context, and your Mac. The public release will include AI in your mter plan.

The public installer is still in preparation. Sign-in and subscriptions are also being prepared. This guide describes the planned customer setup; it is not available in the current internal test build.

Let your agent set it up.

Choose your language, then copy this prompt into an agent that can use your Mac. It will guide installation, Preferences, and project preparation.

Your selections stay in this browser. The prompt asks your agent to verify the release and leave recording under your control.

1. Get ready

When the installer is available, open the DMG and drag mter into Applications. Open mter from Applications. Use the installer that matches your Mac.

2. Sign in and choose your plan

At launch, sign in to mter and start a 7-day trial with 1 meeting hour and 20 AI responses, with no card required. Or choose Plus or Pro for a monthly allowance. Compare the planned packages.

Payment will use Stripe’s checkout. Review your plan and total before paying. Preferences will show your remaining time, AI responses, and renewal date.

Account access and billing are not live yet. If your installed build asks for provider keys, it is an internal test version. Customer setup is waiting for the account-enabled release.

3. Choose your translation language

In Preferences → Translation language, choose English, Turkish, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Chinese (Simplified), Japanese, Arabic, or Hindi. During a meeting, the translation buttons follow that selection—even if you change it while the meeting is running.

Use the language button on a recap, suggested line, or explanation to translate it. Choose Original to restore the source text. Copy uses whichever version you are reading. This preference controls translation, not the interface or live transcription language.

4. Bring your project

Choose New project, add a name, and select the folders and documents relevant to the conversation. You can add multiple folders to one project.

After adding the project, select it from the meeting setup list. You can attach supporting notes, documents, and public links.

5. Prepare for the meeting

Click Prepare for meeting. mter reads supported files from your selected folders, recent local Git history, and attached notes to build context. It uses a bounded selection of files; preparation does not mean every file has been indexed.

Prepare reads local code and commits. It does not fetch GitHub pull requests or update your repositories. Update local checkouts first when you need remote changes included.

6. Start, listen, and ask

Tell the participants you’re recording, enable capture, and click Start meeting. Grant microphone and system-audio permissions when macOS asks. The island appears while a meeting is active and shows the recording state.

Open the evidence before relying on a factual claim. AI may be wrong, and a partial or unfinished check is not confirmation. Stop the meeting to end capture.

If something isn’t working

In the account-enabled release, check Preferences for your sign-in state and remaining allowance. Open Audio settings & diagnostics from meeting setup for microphone and system-audio checks. In macOS System Settings → Privacy & Security, check the permissions requested by mter.

If mter reports that meeting history could not be saved, keep the app open and retry Stop after resolving the storage problem. Do not start another recording until saving succeeds.
